mylife Stories

From 10 to 13 October, the International Blogger Event took place in Burgdorf and Solothurn. Bloggers from England, Ireland, Italy, Canada, Spain, Denmark and Switzerland spent three intensive days learning more about our therapy options and products – and reported actively on their experiences on their social media.

A total of eleven participants took part in the mylife Diabetescare Blogger Event from Monday to Wednesday. Among them were young adults who live with diabetes themselves and report about their life with diabetes and the related products on their websites, including TikTok, Instagram and Youtube. Through their informative and entertaining videos, they already reach a large audience and offer great added value for the diabetes community.

After the individual arrival of the participants, the official programme started on Monday evening with a joint dinner – perfect for getting to know each other. On Tuesday, we showed our guests how we at Ypsomed are working to make self-treatment a matter of course: Burgdorf is the heart of our YpsoPump production. During the visit, we showed the participants the individual production steps of our insulin pump. We went on a tour of the factory in protective clothing and had a very impressive experience: each YpsoPump has a number that clearly shows who manufactured it and when. Two of our participants had the opportunity to personally meet the employee who made their YpsoPump by hand – a very nice moment.

In the afternoon, Sébastien Delarive, Senior Vice President Diabetes Care, met the participants and talked to them about mylife Diabetescare and our goal to simplify the lives of people with diabetes. Thomas Bachmann, Marketing Manager Diabetes Care, then explained our mylife Loop Program and how users can decide for themselves which personal solution they prefer based on different choices. Finally, all participants had the opportunity to playfully develop a fictional app in a workshop – which resulted in many creative and funny ideas. In the evening, the relaxed part of the day followed – Escape Room was on the agenda, a nice dinner rounded off the day.

Wednesday morning was marked by a visit to our needle production in Solothurn. Packaging sleeves, needle protection caps and needle carriers – our machines are producing at full speed. The participants visited our assembly and injection moulding machines with great attention and interest.

It was a great pleasure to meet the bloggers and spend an eventful three days with them. It was also very exciting to gain an insight into their daily dealings with diabetes: although they had to administer insulin several times a day, they always met us with a smile on their faces. We thank them for their participation and the exciting insights into their world with diabetes.
