Advances in diabetes therapy

Every year, the International Conference on Advanced Technologies & Treatments for Diabetes (ATTD) brings together healthcare professionals, scientists, companies, government officials and people with diabetes to learn about the latest developments in diabetes treatment. We attended the event in Berlin from 22 to 25 February with an exhibition stand and a symposium.

At our symposium on the topic of "Improving the life of people with diabetes with mylife CamAPS FX automated insulin delivery", Professor Lutz Heinemann, Ph.D. Science Consulting in Diabetes GmbH, spoke at the beginning about the necessity of systems for automatic insulin dosing (AID systems). Professor Roman Hovorka, who developed the mylife CamAPS FX app with his team at the University of Cambridge, explained the performance his algorithm offers people with diabetes. In a third presentation, paediatric diabetologist Dr Torben Biester gave insights into the use of the mylife Loop in clinical practice.

Ypsomed offers people with diabetes choices for their therapy

A lot is happening in diabetes therapy management and we are at the forefront with our mylife Loop solution: the small, lightweight and user-friendly mylife YpsoPump, together with the mylife CamAPS FX app from CamDiab and a sensor for continuous glucose measurement, forms an AID system that takes over much of the daily diabetes management and can, for example, relieve sufferers at night and allow them to sleep peacefully. We are currently the only provider on the market that allows a choice between the two market-leading sensors, Dexcom's Dexcom G6 and Abbott's FreeStyle Libre 3, which has been available in Germany since December and will soon be available in Switzerland, the Netherlands and the UK.

New feature of the mylife Loop solution arouses curiosity

At the Ypsomed stand as well as at the stand of our partners Dexcom and Abbott, we informed visitors in short live sessions about various aspects of the mylife Loop offer.

The latest feature of the mylife CamAPS FX app, Companion remote monitoring, also met with great interest. With the help of this feature, parents and carers can follow all their child's diabetes therapy data in real time and are kept up to date even when the child is pursuing hobbies, is at school or visiting friends.

We look forward to the next ATTD conference in Florence from 6-9 March 2024.
