The start of my journey
I started using the mylife YpsoPump about six months ago, and it has been everything I hoped for.
Before starting on the YpsoPump, I was using an Animas Vibe. When I discovered that the Animas was being discontinued in Australia, I wanted an alternative to the Medtronic pumps, so I spoke to my endocrinologist who gave me an YpsoPump brochure. I called the Ypsomed representative the next day and he arranged for me to try the pump.
The training process was super-easy. It was the fastest training I have ever had for an insulin pump, which I think reflects the functionality of the YpsoPump. It’s just really straightforward to learn, which makes a big difference when you’re starting out.
What I love about the mylife YpsoPump
There are lots of features that I love about the YpsoPump. Firstly, it does exactly what you need it to do it’s simple to use and it’s a more streamlined device than what I’ve had before. The touchscreen is really intuitive too, which helps to make everything easy from the outset.
But probably the biggest advantage of the YpsoPump for me is its size. It’s very small and light, and I just can’t rave enough about the difference that makes, especially for a woman. With other pumps, there was always a visible bulge under my clothes, but with the YpsoPump you can’t tell that I’m wearing a pump at all.
Not only that, but it actually looks cool! When I have shown the YpsoPump to my friends, they can’t believe it’s a medical device, because it’s so sleek.
A little extra support goes a long way
My journey with the YpsoPump has been made a lot easier by the customer service I’ve received from Ypsomed. Everyone has been so helpful, as well as being lovely to deal with. They were more than happy to give me a loan pump to try, and even gave me some pouches to use. They have gone above and beyond my expectations.
So far, I’m thrilled with my YpsoPump. If you’re considering whether the YpsoPump would be right for you, my advice is to try it – 100%!
